GENTLE YOGA
Learn breath and positioning in a gentle environment. Increase your endurance, flexibility, coordination, and balance. All levels are welcome to attend.

INTRODUCTION TO YOGA
This is introductory class for the beginner of beginners. This class will help you to learn the very basics of yoga in a supportive, empowering environment. Let the benefits of yoga effect your spirit, mind, and body. Bring your own yoga mat or buy one for $10.00 at the front desk. Bring a blanket and/or a towel with you for additional comfort.

YOGA FLOW
Become familiar with basic yoga postures and breath work. Increase your flexibility, endurance, strength, balance, and coordination. Use your mind to focus specifically on a target area in order to feel each movement and each position. Modifications are given to ensure a safe and effective workout.

SUNRISE YOGA
Come get blissed out with an early start to your day. Use your mind to focus on each movement and position. Modifications are given to ensure a safe and effective workout.

PILATES: MAT BASICS
Mat basics will take you through exercises designed to create a strong core, increase body awareness, alignment, and will concentrate on lengthening and breathing. This mat basics class is a good place to begin to learn Pilates or continue your practice by fine-tuning your movements. Modifications will be given to ensure that everyone, from the beginner to the more advanced, can have a successful class.

PILATES: MAT METHOD
Do you want an intense workout without all the movin’ and shakin’? The Pilates mat system uses specific movements to emphasize core strength for abdominals and back. Increase control, strength, flexibility, and breathing techniques. Specific combinations of muscular elongation and contraction are used to give your body that long, lean look!

ZEN STATION
Practicing meditation can bring more joy, more peace, and more substance to your life simply by paying attention to the here and now. Come learn basic meditation techniques that will allow you to experience a higher quality of life by turning your attention inward and touching your center for a moment. In this hurried world we live in, come find an oasis to explore your spirit, mind, and body.

Aspire focuses on comprehensive health and wellness. During this time, we will focus on the three areas that impact our health the most: Spirit, Mind, and Body. Discover the importance of emotional health, balanced food choices, and enjoyable physical activity. Register now for weekly meetings and, as an added bonus, receive FREE personal training time with your class.

HEALTH CIRCLE
Do you sometimes struggle with stopping and starting your wellness plan? Do you need more support to be successful to achieve your health and wellness goals? Consider joining us for Health Circle! This is a program where we will discuss health and well being. There will be significant group participation and sharing as well as opportunities to meet other YMCA members who need support and guidance on their journey through health and well being. Included in this program is group personal training as well as other opportunities to connect with YMCA wellness staff. No registration needed, just drop in!

THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE
The Alexander Technique is an educational process through which you can learn to identify and change poor physical habits of movement, posture, tension, and reaction in everyday activity. It is taught through a combination of verbal and visual cues, and a gentle, guiding touch. Learning the Alexander Technique allows you to:
• Improve posture, balance, and coordination
• Reduce strain and muscular tension
• Increase range of motion
• Relieve and prevent pain
• Find a better way to manage stress
• Access a greater resource of energy
• Prevent injury Improve confidence and self-control
• Enjoy greater mind/body awareness

THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE – INDIVIDUAL LESSON [01561]
The Alexander Technique is most commonly taught in a private lesson format, so that students can get one-on-one instruction to address individual needs. Learn to unravel stress while you lie on a bodywork table to prevent harmful habits of tension and movement. The Alexander Technique can help people of all ages prevent or alleviate conditions associated with excess tension and poor posture, such as neck, back and shoulder pain. Please register and pay at the front desk. The instructor will contact you to make date and time arrangements. THE ALEXANDER TECHNIQUE – CLASSES [01561]
Enroll for this short series of classes and become familiar with the basic principles of the Alexander Technique while you explore how your mind and body can work together to reduce stress and improve your body mechanics in everyday movements, such as sitting, standing, bending, walking, and lying down. This class is suitable for beginners and those wishing to refresh their skills. Space is limited – please register at the front desk.
