2010 Fall Swimming

ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION YMCA AQUATIC PROGRAM [02501]
A recreational exercise program designed to maintain and
promote joint mobility and enhance a sense of well-being.
Participants do not need to know how to swim. A medical release is required prior to the beginning of class. Class is held in South Pool.

ARTHRITIS PLUS AQUATIC PROGRAM [02506]
An exercise program designed to maintain and promote joint mobility with a short cardio segment. Patricipants do not need to know how to swim. A medical release is required prior to the beginning of class. Class is held in South Pool.

M.S. WATER WORKOUT [02505]
An exercise program in cool water designed to promote mobility and a sense of well being for those with Multiple Sclerosis or other related ailments. A medical release is required prior to the beginning of class. Class is held in the North Pool.

BACK AQUATIC PROGRAM [02502]
Mild water exercises designed to relax and strengthen the muscles of the back, hips, and abdomen while increasing flexibility are stressed. A medical release is required prior to the beginning of class. Class is held in the South Pool.

2010 Fall Fitness

STRENGTH TRAINING FOR OLDER ADULTS
Ages 65 and over
We begin to lose bone density, balance and coordination as we age. The good news is that there is something we can do about it! Strength training and creating a fitness regime can deter or prevent these issues from occurring. 3 FREE personal training sessions will teach you how to build your muscle strength, endurance, and increase your mobility. Everyday activities will become easier, posture will improve, and you’ll look and feel great! Pick up an information packet at the front desk.

PRIME TIME FITNESS
It’s never too late to get fit! Stretching, toning, and a low impact cardiovascular workout are covered. This class is ideal for active older adults, beginning exercisers, and transitional rehabilitation members.

PRIME TIME FITNESS CLINICS [01183]
Ages 55 and over
Learn the basics of weight training and balance. The clinics will include weight training, stability ball exercises, resistance bands and resistance tube exercises and general balance work. Each session runs for four weeks with each class lasting one hour. Each session will be limited to 12 participants. Please register at the front desk.
