YOUNG LEADERS - REGISTERING NOW FOR FALL
Grades 7 & 8
This after-school program is designed to bring out the leader in each participant. Young Leaders will have the opportunity to learn “life skills” (i.e., money management, child development, environmental issues, and drug and alcohol prevention), take field trips, and have fun. Programming is provided 5 days per week until 6:00 pm. Participants are required to complete an application and be accepted into the program. Applications are available at the front desk. The program runs September through May and care is not provided when Brandywine School District is off or when middle schools have half days. Transportation will be provided from Hanby, Talley and Pilot. Springer Middle School participants should register for Bus #62.
Fees: Full Members, Program Members + Public $140 per month

TEEN LEADERS
Grades 7 – 12
Teen Leaders is a productive, fun group where teens get together to make contributions to their community. The teens will learn the four important YMCA values of Caring, Respect, Responsibility, and Honesty. They will plan fundraisers to earn money for special trips and charities, volunteer within the community at places like nursing homes and hospitals, and go on awesome trips such as overnights and weekends away. Besides teens helping the community, participants will also learn and help each other grow. Lifelong friendships are founded within this program.

JUNIOR LEADERS
Grades 4 – 8
This program is designed to help members build new friendships, learn something about themselves, and make important community contacts. The core values of the YMCA (Honesty, Caring, Respect and Responsibility) will be stressed. There will be opportunities to travel and meet other teens, go on field trips, and play fun games here at the YMCA.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS
High School Students
As a participant of this program, you will represent a country and its viewpoints through debate and presentation of written material. The program begins in September with weekly meetings geared towards enhancing researching, writing, and debating skills. The program culminates in January 2009 at the Model U.N. Conference in Hershey, PA. During this weekend, approximately 1200 teens from 4 states gather to represent countries from around the world. The entire weekend is participant lead with teens assuming important cabinet positions including Secretary General. Fee is for the entire program.

YOUTH IN GOVERNMENT
Grades 8 – 12
This program allows teens to learn about our state government using hands on approach. Highlights include debating on the floor of Legislative Hall, writing a bill, and making friends. Youth in Government will culminate in late March 2009 with a weekend in Dover where most events will be held in the Legislative Hall.

DANCES!
Grades 4 – 6
Please come and join us for a couple of evenings of fun and dancing. Admission is $4 and there will be food and raffle tickets available for purchase at the door! Please dress appropriately. Two new fall dance themes and attractions are planned. If you have a school ID, please be ready to present it at the door! All dances will be held in the Brandywine YMCA gym.

CO-ED YOUTH DODGEBALL
Grades 4 – 7
Boys and girls make up teams with a maximum of 7 players in this league. Individual team members may make requests to play together and we will do our best to make all accommodations.
