Position Title: Program Specialist

Salary: $9.00-$10.00/hr
Summary: The YMCA Resource Center is seeking candidates for the Program Specialist- I to assist with the Alternative-to-Suspension component of the Brandywine Peer Court program. Under the supervision of the Brandywine Peer Court (BPC) Program Director, the Program Assistant will assist with the Alternative-to-Suspension (ATS) component of Peer Court, which includes student supervision, student check-in and dismissal, maintaining attendance records, and assisting with positive life skills programs. The program is based on the Brandywine School District school calendar and only meets during school days when there are students who have been referred, up to 25 hours/week.
Qualifications: High school graduate with at least 1 year experience working with middle and/or high school age youth in an educational setting. Must possess a positive attitude toward youth and the desire to help youth achieve their full potential. Candidate must have basic computer skills to assist students with accessing on-line academic program and using Microsoft Office components. Candidate must possess excellent organizational and communication skills, be able to walk up and down stairs to program location, and sit or stand for an extended length of time.
