America on the Move Week
Join us for 7 days of ways to get you active & well-informed!
Day 1 Sat 9/20 Activity: 1-Mile Walk
Join us at Brecknock Park to kick off America On The Move!
Individuals and families will meet YMCA staff at Brecknock Park at 9:45 a.m.
for the 10 a.m. 1-mile walk through scenic Brecknock Park. Strollers welcomed.
Day 2 Sun 9/21 Activity: Lap & Recreational Swim
Get some Family Fitness. Take a swim. Lap & Recreational Swimming are open to the public.
Recreational & Lap swimming available from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Day 3 Mon 9/22 Activity: Eating Healthy
Fruit Fantasy! Come learn about the benefits of fruit for your body. 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Day 4 Tues 9/23 Activity: Flexibility
Learn how to increase your strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination while becoming deeply relaxed. 7:15 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. Space is limited so, please call to register. Participants will need to bring their own mat.
Day 5 Wed 9/24 Activity: Cardio 101
Come take the class of the day. K.I.S.S. (Keep It Safe & Simple) is a low impact aerobics class that includes body toning exercises especially for the Young at Heart 8:20 a.m. – 9:05 a.m.
Day 6 Thurs 9/25 Activity: Staying Hydrated
Learn what important things water does for your body then get thirsty in the class of the day. Group cycling is an indoor cycling class where you ride along with an instructor on an exciting journey to better health! 5:35 a.m. – 6:30 a.m.
Day 7 Fri 9/26 Activity: Strength Training
Ages 14 & up can come in for the movement maze and learn how to utilize equipment
that builds muscles, strength and bone density. There will be 30-minute sessions
available between 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
The Youth Wellness Center is available 4-7pm for ages 7-13 to learn functional strength training. |

YMCA’s America on the Move Week is part of a national initiative known as YMCA Activate America, which is rallying YMCAs across the country to further enhance their service and support to kids, adults, and families who want a healthier lifestyle, but struggle to do so. YMCAs are also deepening their commitment to promote healthy living and intensifying their collaboration with other community partners to magnify their impact.
