Kids Zone is a non–structured babysitting service. Our goal is to nurture your children in a safe environment with a focus on the character development values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Full privilege members may take advantage of service for 1 hour & 30 minutes per day, per child. Please label everything. Immunization must be up to date and an emergency form must be on file. Parents must remain on the premises

Giant Step Preschool [08402]
A Kindergarten Readiness Program
This half-day preschool is specifically for children 3 to 5 years old. Under the guidance of our experienced caring teachers the children will develop their social skills (sharing, taking turns, character development), large and gross motor skills (cutting with scissors, using a pencil, hopping on one foot), math and language readiness (writing their name, recognizing letters and numbers, patterns) and be introduced to a classroom environment. Children will also participate in music, creative movement, and computer. Weekly swimming class! Three or five day a week attendance available.
3 Days/wk. Morning class available: Mon., Wed., & Fri. 9:00am - 12:00pm
3 Days/wk. Afternoon Class available: Mon., Wed., & Fri. 12:00pm -3:00pm

For Children 3 to 5 Years Old
Full Day Child Care registration is ongoing throughout the year. Our Preschool portion runs September-June with a switch over to Camp Care-A-Lot the first week in June. YMCA Child Care builds on children’s natural desire to learn new things and become more self-reliant. Our Full Day Childcare Program provides a developmentally age appropriate early childhood program. The program follows the guidelines of the Delaware Early Learning Foundation for School Success and the National Association of Educators of Young Children regarding effective classroom practices for three, four and five year old children. Learning takes place in a safe, caring and nurturing environment. Themes that are meaningful for young children are integrated into learning centers and small group activities promoting physical, social, emotional and intellectual development. Learning occurs spontaneously through children’s play.

Kid’s fun night [08707]
Little Kids: Ages 2 - 7 / Big Kids: Ages 8 - 12
This activity night is for school age children ages 5 to 10. Times 6:30-9:00 Parents can drop off their kids and have an evening out! Different activities will be offered at the YMCA for your child to participate in such as arts and crafts, open swimming, dancing and other competitions.

March 14th “March Madness”, April 18th “Spring into Adventure “, May 16th “Dance Fever.”

If children are not enrolled in our afterschool care program enrollement forms must be filled out upon registration.
Time: 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Dates: March 14, April 18th, May 16th
Fees: Full Members: $15.00 per child ($5 for each sibling)

School’s Out

Serving K-8th Grades:
Our program provides a positive and meaningful, before and after-school experience for children in grades K through 8. Experienced and educated staff members plan structured activities designed to develop each child to his or her fullest potential. Rates reflect the 2007-2008 school year

Before School Care runs from 7:00am to the start of the school day. After School Care runs from school dismissal to 6:00pm.

CATCH
Coordinated Approach To Child Health is a new program incorporated into the YMCA After School Care Programs. Three days out of the week the children play games that get them on their feet and moving. Twice a week the children will learn about healthy snacks and eating habits. The CATCH program has proven that establishing healthy eating habits during childhood can promote behavior change that carries over to adulthood. CATCH is a great way for your child to get your child active and healthy while at the YMCA After School Care.
