Assessments
The Wellness Center will perform a health assessment for any member who makes an appointment at the Wellness Center desk.
The objective for an assessment is to provide greater awareness to quality of life and exercise safety. During the assessment there will be a three phase evaluation process. The assessment will consist of a short health history review, blood pressure check, body fat analysis, and a Smart Start orientation. Sign up for an appointment in the Wellness Center.

Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic & Time Oriented goals
During this goal setting consultation a wellness professional will work with you to understand your unique needs and how to overcome obstacles. Together we will discuss ways to help you get started and how to measure success. Not only will S.M.A.R.T. Start help you to get acquainted with our staff and offerings at our YMCA, but it is an excellent opportunity to get your health & wellness questions answered. Register at the Member Service Desk for your S.M.A.R.T Start appointment.

Diabetes Prevention Program
An evidence-based program the YMCA of Delaware is offering in partnership with the Centers for Disease Control. This year-long, evidence-based program is designed to help individuals with pre-diabetes reduce their risk of developing diabetes.
• 12-month long program for individuals with pre-diabetes
• Program is proven to reduce risk of developing the type 2 diabetes by more than half
• Learn skills to lead a healthier lifestyle, including how to eat healthier, increase physical activity, and change your behavior (physical activity is not a part of program)
• Meet one hour per week for 16 core sessions in supportive, group setting led by a lifestyle coach
• After 16 core sessions, groups meet once a month for 6 to 8 months to support their lifestyle changes
• Participants are placed in groups based upon their scheduling and location needs
Fee: $50 for YMCA members / $100 non-YMCA Members

FitLinxx
Join the technological crowd by signing up for a FitLinxx account! Fitlinxx is the ultimate marriage of technology and fitness. It allows our fitness staff to program an electronic Wellness Coach that will help you meet your specific goals and objectives. In a Fitlinxx circuit, all of the weight machines are connected to a central Fitlinxx server, which acts as both a coach and a workout log, moving with you from machine to machine to track your progress, offer encouragement, and provide tips for improvement. In addition to the electronic coaching, Fitlinxx helps our Wellness Staff to keep tabs on your progress and update your program every 4 – 8 weeks as well, so they can suggest modifications to your workout program or give you a little push in the right direction. FitLinxx is included in your membership!

BODY Composition ANALYsis [01203]
Hop on our Tanita body fat analyzer and let it accurately estimate your body fat percentage. After 5 minutes your results are calculated and our Wellness Specialist can suggest a healthy range of weight loss or weight gain.

Personal Training at your YMCA
Central Delaware YMCA offers professional personal training services to staff who are nationally certified. This ensures that your trainer will have the education required to help you reach your goals safely and efficiently. If it’s learning the fundamentals of exercise, requiring
specialized fitness programming or looking to achieve your personal best, our staff will customize a program to meet your needs and encourage you to succeed. With a variety of personal training packages, we are confident you will receive the attention you deserve. Central Delaware YMCA offers personal training services in 1 ON 1, SMALL GROUP (minimum of 2 in a group) and 30 MINUTE “TIME BUSTER”. Purchase single sessions or save when you buy packages of 3 to 24 sessions.

This program is designed to help you learn how to work more
efficiently and effectively via 1-on-1 instruction. Personal training times are set up between you and your trainer to accomodate your needs. Let one of our certified trainers help you achieve your fitness goals and get the results you want. Pick up a personal trainer information sheet at the front desk, pick the sessions that fit your needs, and get on the road to a new you. Let us design a program that is right for you. Each session is up to 1 hour in length.

Bring a friend and accomplish your goals together. Small Group Personal Training can range from 2 to 4 in a group.

Workout routines [01508]
Do you not want a full-time personal trainer but still need that little extra attention in your workout routine? Do you need something to hit those spots around your body that using structured machines in the FitLinxx system can’t do? Sign up for our new exercise program development and have a Life Coach walk you through a tailored Free Weight exercise routine specifically for you. With a Life Coach on your side you will be able to discuss your unique options. During this time, you will be able to identify health risks associated with your present lifestyle and development gopals to help you reach optimum health. Your Life Coach is a resource for all questions you may have to help you stay on track with a healthy lifestyle. When your workout routine is finished after 6-10 weeks you can discuss progress, updates and new goals with your Life Coach.

TRX 1 on 1 training
TRX can be used for the elite athlete or the novice exerciser trying to tone and or increase balance. TRX exercises muscles in their full range of motion while increasing flexibility. The free motion strap design forces your primary muscles to go through its full range of motion and recruit stabilizer muscles you normally would not be able to engage while performing traditional exercises. The structure of the workout is simple but keeps your muscles guessing. The goal is to complete as many repetitions as possible within the allotted time. If you are an athlete your trainer will push you hard, if you are a novice go at your own pace. 8-12 exercises are all you will need for this workout.
