Spring I Sports

Holy Cross Soccer League
Boys and Girls
Spring Soccer Season is upon us!!! If you have a children ages 6-10 that is interested in playing soccer this is the team for them. Practices will be held one week night and games are held on Saturdays at Holy Cross on the back fields. Everyone has fun, everyone plays. Season is scheduled to start on April 4, 2009. Coaches will contact you with practice dates and times. Divisions are U6, U8, U10

YMCA U12 Co-Ed Travel league
Players will travel between Western and Brandywine YMCA for a state wide recreation travel league. Games will alternate locations between home games (played at Holy Cross’s Field and the 2 other YMCA’s.

Indoor Preschool Soccer (Ages 3-4)
Boys and girls let’s put on our soccer shoes and get active. We will get your 3-4 year old ready to play in the big leagues. All the soccer basics will be covered. We will do games to reinforce skill development, which means fun for everyone. Please wear shin guards.
Day & Time: Tuesdays at Salvation Army Gym 6:00-6:45

Preschool Basketball (Ages 3-5)
There’s one more season of preschool basketball left and you don’t want to miss out. Players will get to begin playing games against each other this session just like the pros. Adjustable baskets are available for players that are not ready for the big hoops.
Day & Time: Wednesdays at Salvation Army Gym 6:00-6:45

NEW! ADULT SOCCER LEAGUE
New adult 8 v 8 soccer league will begin games in April. Games are on Sundays. Rosters are finalized 2nd week into season. Play-off and championship after 8 week regular season. Team captain must have at least program membership at the YMCA. Fee is $400 per team. 12 person maximum roster. One hour games with unlimited substitutions. All other FIFA rules apply. Put me in coach I’m ready to play. Let’s get off the bench and play t-ball. Catching, throwing, batting, and base running will get your all-star ready for the Major Leagues. Players will need to bring their own glove.

Preschool Golf Ages 3-5
It’s never too early to tee off with your little one. YMCA Preschool golf will start your little one off on the right foot practicing driving and putting, with some fun reinforcement games. Clubs are provided, but if you have your own please bring them. Parents feel free to join your kids. Maybe our instructor can help take some strokes off your game as well!!!

Learn to Skate
Have fun while learning the fundamentals of ice skating. The Learn to Skate Program is open to individuals of all ages; children thru adult. No previous skating experience required. Each class consists of a half hour group lesson and a half hour of supervised practice session. Groups are separated by age and ability HELMET RULE: All children under the age of 7 are REQUIRED to wear a bike or approved ice hockey helmet. Loaner helmets are not available.
