" 8/12/08: Passing the Stress Test: Stress Management Techniques for Educators
  - What: While students and school personnel can experience high levels of stress at any time, certain times in the academic year seem to bring on higher levels of stress. This experiential workshop will assist teachers and other school personnel to recognize their own stress, learn ways to effectively manage stress, and be able to teach this information and the techniques to their students.
  - When: Tuesday, August 12, 2008 10am-12pm
  - Where: YMCA Resource Center of Delaware - Community Service Building, 100 W. 10th Street, Suite 901, Wilmington, DE 19801
  - Who: Appropriate for teachers, preschool staff, student teachers.
  - Registration: If you are a Delaware teacher K-12, call the Delaware Teacher Center at (302) 736-6723. If you are not a Delaware teacher, there is a $20 registration fee, which can be paid at the door. Call the Resource Center at (302) 571-6975 for more information or for directions and parking information.

" August 10-20, 2008: Participants in the Resource Centers Building Strong Girls and Building Strong Kids programs are attending Camp Tockwogh.

" In September, students at the following schools will be receiving S.E.L.F. (Students Expressing & Listening to Feelings) programs:
- Pleasantville Elementary
- Forwood Elementary
- Our Lady of Fatima School
- Eisenberg Elementary

" Students at Downes Elementary, will be learning about bullying prevention and how to create a bully-proof school

" 9/16/08: Todays Youth, Todays Drugs: ATOD Awareness for Educators
- What: Students, from elementary through high school, are faced with pressures to use alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD). While there are drug prevention programs that specifically target students, this workshop will equip educators and school staff to be aware of the current trends in student substance use (including abuse of prescriptions), signs and symptoms of use, and empower educators to make effective referrals to the appropriate sources. This interactive workshop will also address the concerns for students who are living with a parent, caregiver, or sibling who is abusing substances.
