INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES AT YMCA CAMP TOCKWOGH
Need
an internship for college or even course credit?
More and more colleges and professional jobs necessitate
an internship for graduation requirements. Colleges will
often refer to them as practical experience or a practicum.
We can easily offer both in a wide range of opportunities
for you while you are here during our summer. Every year
we have students complete service hours, internships,
and even twelve credit practicum.
Assessing
your needs
If your college or department requires practical experience
or even course credit in a professional work environment
we are experienced at molding our program to fit your
college, university or personal needs. Some college programs
require that you have an immersion experience in a low-responsibility
position, such as a cabin counselor; showing your ability
to adapt to new environments and teaching a scheduled
curriculum.
We
can also accommodate you if you need to have an administrative
role with a large grasp on program development, staff
supervision, risk management and decision making processes.
We have nearly 30 administrative staff on camp that are
responsible for everything from the waterfront and land
activity programs to our villages and cabin areas. You
can supervise anywhere from 6 to 85 staff members and
nearly 380 campers. Again, we can accommodate most specific
requirements that you need.
When,
Where and How?
Spring, Summer, Fall; we are open almost all year round
and therefore always need staff. During our conference
seasons in spring, summer and fall (matching your semesters)
we need staff to run adventure programs such as kayaking,
hiking and sailing as well as hosting our conference and
rental groups on site. Along with the conference program
we also hire 100 cabin counselors and the 30 administrative
staff for our summer resident camp as mentioned above.
