Job Description:

Directly responsible for the supervision, administration and coordination of all facets concerning the Tickwogh Sailing and Ski programs. 

Min. Education Required:

Completed 2 years of College

Min. Experience Required:

Leadership Skills, Water Ski or Sail Experience

Min. Age Required:

21

Salary:  

$250-300 per week (based on experience)

Start Date:

June 3, 2007 (preferably earlier)

End Date:

August 19, 2007 (11 weeks)

Specific Responsibilities:

Tickwogh is the elite sailing/racing and waterskiing camp.  Supervise and train 8 sail and ski staff members.  Responsible for up to 38 campers.  Ensure their proficiency with advanced sailboat/waterskiing skills.  Responsible for the Tickwogh facility, waterfront and boats.  Schedule and supervise waterfront activities; fully responsible for all safety standards and most importantly the safety of our participants.  Also acts as the Village Chief and must handle all counselors and campers needs pertinent to the Tockwogh summer program. 

Required Skills and/or Certifications:

Ability to complete the following: Ellis Lifeguard, Maryland Boating Safety Education, US Merchant Mariners License (OUPV-Limited Deck License).  Proficiency in some of the following: Basic sailing, racing and running regattas and/or waterskiing, wakeboard, trick ski, slalom, barefoot, and kneeboard.  Set a high example of the YMCA Character Values and extend experience as a leader to all others in program area.
