Traditional Camp

“Tockwogh has definitely made me who I am today. I care more about others, and especially helping others than I would if I didn’t have this place in my life.”

– Former camper and 2009 staff member

Traditional Camp (Grades 2-9)
Guided by the principles of the YMCA, we create a safe, inclusive environment for campers to learn skills and grow. We work hard to make your child's experience at Tockwogh a positive one that they will remember for the rest of their lives. Making friends, being outdoors, and learning positive social behaviors are just a few great things about Tockwogh. Just in the last 10 years we have helped over 15,000 campers become confident, caring, and thoughtful young adults. Take the time to view the site and learn the types of activities and growth your son or daughter will enjoy at Camp Tockwogh. If you have any questions, please contact us. We are always happy to talk camp with parents.

Camper Activities

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Our camp community is made up of children who have completed any grade 2 through 9. Campers are broken down into smaller villages by age for housing and activities during their time here. Cabin groups are by far the most important feature of camp for making friends, and the friends your child makes in one summer at camp will last a lifetime. Just ask one of our thousands of alumni. We spend extra time training staff on how to help new campers feel a part of our community. The way we like to talk about cabin groups is that they are small families for counselors and campers during the session, and families help support each other.

On top of the great opportunities to make friends, our traditional program offers a range of activities for your child to explore. We teach sailing, water skiing, sports, horseback riding, outdoor education, and much much more!
