Our People

Our philosophy is that staff are the key to a successful camp experience. They exude positive energy and excitement. Many of our 140  staff are college students who return each year because they find the experience so rewarding. They are selected with care.

Each staff member is given rigorous interviews  and background checks; their attitude determines whether they ultimately will be part of the Tockwogh team. This attitude comes from realizing they are role models. It is vital that staff have the ability to lead young – and often unsure campers to grow and develop self-confidence with new challenges. Staff-to-camper ratio is 1-to-8 in cabins, so no one gets overlooked.

Effective staff training is essential. Training covers everything from CPR/First Aid, lifeguarding, horseback riding, and boat driving to working with homesick campers, strategies to create bonds  within the cabin,and how to model good behavior.

Your child’s safety is paramount to us, which drives us to exceed the industry standards on staffing and staff training. We are proud of our staff and their commitment to excellent service.
