During this goal setting consultation a wellness professional will work with you to understand your unique needs and how to overcome obstacles. Together we will discuss ways to help you get started and how to measure success. Not only will S.M.A.R.T. Start help you to get acquainted with our staff and offerings at our YMCA, but it is an excellent opportunity to get your health & wellness questions answered. Class FITNESS CENTER ORIENTATION    
Ages 14 years & up
  Our Orientations are designed to introduce you to our Fitness Center staff, policies and equipment. We offer 3 different types of orientations to help our members better meet their fitness needs. All orientations include discussion of proper form and technique as well as standard fitness center etiquette. Full Members may register at the Welcome Center for one or all of the following:

The Basics
Recommended for the new member, beginner exerciser and all members age 14-17. Learn the basics of a safe and effective workout while getting an overview of 3 pieces of cardio equipment as well as 8 machines from the Nautilus Strength Training Circuit.

The Next Step
Recommended for members who have been through a basic orientation and feel comfortable enough to learn more. This orientation can also be used as a refresher for those who haven’t used the Nautilus machines in a while. Learn the remaining Nautilus Resistance Machines and how to structure a complete, well rounded workout. We will also explain how to use the Nautilus Number system along with our targeted workouts or create one of you own.

Free Weights
When you are ready to take your workouts beyond Nautilus. Review of weight room etiquette, safety tips, and the safe execution of a basic set of free weight exercises to help mix up your current routine.

Class PERSONAL TRAINER TRAINING COURSE Program # 01-5-15
  Always wanted to be a personal trainer - Nows your chance.
4 week course - 14 hours classroom lecture, 10 hours practical experience. Topics include: basic exercise science, anatomy & physiology, exercise prescription & design, exercise technique, liability & more.

  Get in on one of the fastest growing fitness trends around!! TRX
Training will offer you everything you’ve been looking for in a
strength training program. Whether you are a beginner or an elite
athlete, our TRX Training programs will help you achieve your desired health and wellness goals using your own body weight. The program is based on timed sets as opposed to target repetitions. The goal is to complete as many repetitions as possible with good form in the allotted time. As skill and fitness increases, you will be able to complete more repetitions in the time allowed.

  Do you struggle making your workout a part of every day? Are you looking for ways to make it easier or more appealing to get to the gym? Do you need a little motivation along the way? Perhaps you just have lots of questions and don’t know what answers to trust! Join us for 7 weeks of information, motivation, good workouts and FUN! Meetings will be at 7pm on Tuesdays . Group workout times may vary.

Course includes:
• 3 group workouts – designed just for class participants
• Workshops on various topics including nutrition, stretching, motivation
You will earn points for participation throughout the course and awards will be given – but the greatest reward will be a new found commitment to yourself and a healthier lifestyle.

Four programs to choose from – From the beginner learning how to workout to the consistent exercise who is looking for a new challenge. New programs are included for those who have been through the 12 week challenge before. Attend an informational meeting and determine which program level is best for you.
