Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic & Time Oriented goals
During this goal setting consultation a wellness professional will work with you to understand your unique needs and how to overcome obstacles. Together we will discuss ways to help you get started and how to measure success. Not only
will S.M.A.R.T. Start help you to get acquainted with our staff and offerings at our YMCA, but it is an excellent opportunity to get your health & wellness questions answered. Register at the Member Services or call the
S.M.A.R.T. Start hotline at ext 1130.

12 Week Introduction to Wellness [01301]
Start this ongoing program when the time is right for you!
This follow up to SMART Start is a great opportunity to review
your progress, adjust your plan and learn from health and
wellness professionals. Topics include: weight management,
effective exercise techniques and nutrition strategies. Participants will also receive:
• A roadmap to success booklet to help you stay on track
• Bi-Weekly educational sessions (check with branch for dates)
- Monday’s @ 7:00pm or Saturday’s @ 10:00am
• Regular contact with a Wellness Coach

Wellness Center Orientation Series
Learn how to use the equipment in our Wellness Center.
Each orientation includes demonstration of proper form and set up of the strength circuit. We’ll also discuss Wellness Center rules and etiquette. We offer three sessions to help you learn each set of exercises. Stop by member services to schedule your orientation

Basic
Get acquainted with the Wellness Center and how it can best meet individual needs. We’ll show you how to use our Life Fitness Circuit and some of our cardio machines. We recommend this session for beginner exercisers and all members ages 14-17.

Next Step
Learn how to use the rest of the circuit and additional cardio machines. We recommend this session for members who have completed the Basic orientation.

Free Weight
Learn the proper use and technique for using free weights. We recommend this session for members who have completed the Basic and Next Step orientations.

TRX TRAINING CLASSES [01617]
Small group strength training with TRX is a great alternative to weights. TRX Suspension Training® is a system of straps and holds that exercisers use to pull, lift and stabilize their own body weight for a total body workout. The straps are lightweight, easy to use, and can be lengthened or shortened to accommodate exercisers of different sizes through a wide range of activities. TRX Suspension Training® will help you reach your fitness goals whether you are a beginner or an elite athlete. Join this small group class for more instructor attention. Each class is 55 minutes.

BOOT CAMP EXPRESS [01614]
Prepare your body for an upcoming event or take on a new challenge in Boot Camp Express. Reach your goals with a variety of drills and get your heart rate up in this 60-minute outdoor class. Turn this express class into a summer workout. Class meets three times a week

Wii Bowling [01531]
for Active Older Adults (AOA)
Whether you are an experienced bowler or a beginner, Wii Bowling is the way to play. No equipment needed. Meet other members and discover why kids can’t put down the remote! Meet weekly to practice and score a few points. Learn more at the welcome event on Monday, June 14 at 1 pm. Register at Member Services.

Delaware Collaborative Exercising with Diabetes
June 18th - September 3rd
Get the information and tools to manage diabetes through physical activity and nutrition education. Christiana Care Exercise Physiologists and Registered Dieticians teach this 90-minute class which includes:
• 45 minutes classroom style discussion
• 45 minutes exercise
• Blood glucose, blood pressure and heart rate monitored throughout exercise session
Day & Time: Friday: 2:30 – 4:00
Location: Aerobic Studio

Fee: $75
