An unprecedented era
At no time in the history of the YMCA of Delaware has there been such system-wide growth. The expansion and upgrading of facilities, addition of technologically advanced equipment and innovative programs has never been greater, adding more value to YMCA memberships.
Unlike in any other state, membership at a YMCA of Delaware branch is valid at all branches in the state, providing Y locations that are convenient to homes, work places and commuter travel.
Major improvements are completed or being made to four of our branch sites and construction on the first new YMCA in Delaware in nearly 40 years continues in the Bear-Glasgow area. Throughout our branches more than 300 new pieces of exercise equipment were added in August with technology that makes exercise more enjoyable and beneficial.
In this special issue of Mission, you will see some outreach efforts of the YMCA with before and after school care, substance abuse prevention and anti-bullying programs. We hope you will agree that the YMCA of Delaware is striving to put into action the words, “We build strong kids, strong families and strong communities.”
