Adaptive Fitness

For our members with diverse abilities, we offer adaptive fitness equipment complete with a harness system. We now have harnesses set up in fitness centers as well as in classes such as Barre, Zumba and Yoga. We currently have adaptive fitness equipment installed at two of our branches (Bear-Glasgow and Dover) and plan to add equipment at more locations in the near future.

Diabetes Prevention Program

Our Diabetes Prevention Program is for individuals who are at risk for prediabetes. It is a group based program designed to help participants learn strategies for eating healthier, increasing physical activity and making other changes to improve their health and well-being.

Fitness Center Orientation

If you’re new to the Y or are unsure about how to use some of the equipment in our fitness centers, we’re here to help. During your complimentary Fitness Center Orientation you will meet with a trainer or instructor who will show you the basics on how to use the gym equipment.

Fitness Centers

We offer fitness centers and workout areas for both youth and adults. Our spacious adult fitness centers are designed for both cardiovascular and strength workouts and feature state-of-the-art equipment including cardio machines, free weights, weight machines, rowers and more. Our Fitness Center staff is always readily available to provide guidance on using the equipment. Our youth fitness centers are great for kids and include climbing areas, interactive cardio equipment and friendly staff to lead a variety of cardio drills and callisthenic workouts.

Fitness Consultations

Are you interested in the fitness center, group exercise, or swimming, but you don’t know where to start? Our fitness staff will assist you in getting familiar with all of our exercise equipment and program options. During your consultation(s), a fitness staff member will help you identify obstacles, set short term goals, and help you establish a program that meets your needs.

Girls On the Run

Girls On the Run is a life-changing program that combines training for a 5k (3.1 miles) with a healthy living education for young girls. Participants will develop self-esteem and strong values through health education, life skills development, mentoring relationships and physical training.
