Delaware Today: YMCA of Delaware – The Face of Opportunity

Now celebrating 126 years, the YMCA of Delaware has been strengthening local citizens through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Y is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in Delaware with a strong presence in all three counties and an overnight camp, Camp Tockwogh, in Worton, Maryland. The Y provides opportunities for adults and youth to improve their health and wellness through exercise, while championing various public health issues including obesity, water safety and diabetes prevention. Additionally, the Y helps combat the achievement gap by helping young people focus on school success from preschool to college prep. Through trusted partnerships and collaborations, our staff of 2,000 along with more than 1,000 volunteers, we provide nearly $5 million in financial assistance and opportunities for all people.
