Providing child care for those caring for us

In these unprecedented times, we asked ourselves – how can we be of service to those who need us most?

A health crisis puts incredible strain on our health care and infrastructure systems. With school districts closed, parents are often forced to choose between work and providing necessary child care. This is hard for any parent, especially parents in health care and essential services – as missing a day of work may mean fewer hands providing life-saving care and essential services to members of our community who need it most.

A trusted child care provider for decades

With a special waiver, the YMCA of Delaware is able to provide childcare for all hospital personnel and others deemed as essential workers so they can provide life-sustaining services.

Care will be available for school-age children (5-12 years old) from 7 am- 6:30 pm Monday- Friday. Children will enjoy arts, crafts, games, sports, movies, and supervision from experienced Y staff.

Spots are limited. Registrants will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. The cost is $75 per day. Financial assistance is available. Payment will secure your spot for the entire operating day.
