DESCRIPTION:Join us in making a splash at the Dover YMCA’s Cardboard Boat Regatta! Families will engineer boats using only cardboard and duct tape\, then paddle the length of our pool in a thrilling race. This event fosters family togetherness and STEM-based learning\, with at-home activities leading up to the big day. Event proceeds help fund the Water Wise program\, aimed at preventing drowning and equipping children with essential water safety skills. \nRegister Today!\nThis event is open to the community. Registration is donation based with recommended $50 team entry. \nRegistration ends July 25th. Register early to receive regatta swag! \n*Spaces are limited. \n\n\n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat is a Boat Regatta?\nUsing only cardboard and duct tape\, families will build a boat to paddle the length of the Dover Y Pool! They will be provided at home activities to foster family togetherness and STEM based learning. Suspense!\n(Will it float?) \n5 prize categories: \n\nBest Design: colorful\, fun\, has a name\, etc\n1st place in heat\nChampion in final heat\nDavey Jones Locker\nMost Spirit (overall theme)\n\n\nProceeds from the Regatta will benefit the Y’s Water Wise program\, which is dedicated to preventing drowning by offering free water safety lessons to children ages 3-17.
