SUMMARY:2025 Canned Food & Clothing Drive
DESCRIPTION:The YMCA of Delaware is calling on the community to come together this fall to support families in need through its annual Canned Food and Clothing Drive\, running from November 3 through November 21 at all Y locations statewide. \nCommunity members are encouraged to donate nonperishable food items and winter clothing to help neighbors facing hunger and hardship as colder months approach. Donations will benefit local organizations that provide essential resources to Delawareans\, including the Y Mission Market at the Central YMCA and local partner agencies. \nHow to Participate \nAs part of this community initiative\, the YMCA of Delaware is collecting: \n\nNonperishable Food: Pasta\, canned fruits and vegetables\, peanut butter\, canned tuna\, soups\, and other shelf-stable items.\nWinter Clothing: Coats\, hats\, scarves\, gloves\, and other cold-weather essentials.\n\nAdded Incentives to Give \nTo thank participants for their generosity\, the Y is offering special promotions: \n\nYMCA Members: Donate five or more items and be entered into a raffle for a free one-year YMCA membership.\nNon-Members: Donate five or more items and have your joiner fee waived (up to $100) when you join during the drive.\nNew Members Who Join During the Drive: Will also be entered into the membership raffle.\n\nAll YMCA of Delaware branches are collecting items during regular operating hours.

DESCRIPTION:Join us in making a splash at the Dover YMCA’s Cardboard Boat Regatta! Families will engineer boats using only cardboard and duct tape\, then paddle the length of our pool in a thrilling race. This event fosters family togetherness and STEM-based learning\, with at-home activities leading up to the big day. Event proceeds help fund the Water Wise program\, aimed at preventing drowning and equipping children with essential water safety skills. \nRegister Today!\nThis event is open to the community. Registration is donation based with recommended $50 team entry. \n*Spaces are limited\, registrations by November 12th preferred. \n\n\n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n\n\n\n\n\nWhat is a Boat Regatta?\nUsing only cardboard and duct tape\, families will build a boat to paddle the length of the Dover Y Pool! They will be provided at home activities to foster family togetherness and STEM based learning.
