Community Celebration Set for September 14th at the Western Family YMCA
Newark, Delaware –The Western Family YMCA invites the community to lace up their running shoes and bring their appetite for a day of fitness, flavor, and fun at the Fourth Annual Great Human Race 5K & International Food Festival on Sunday, September 14th. The 5K begins at 10 a.m. at the Western Family YMCA, followed by the International Food Festival at 11 a.m., held in partnership with the West Wilmington Seventh Day Adventist Church.
This vibrant event celebrates what unites us as a community. It features a family-friendly 5K and a rich sampling of global cuisine, cultural entertainment, and kid-friendly activities like a moon bounce and special performances.
5K Registration Details:
- Adults (19+): $35
- Youth (18 & under): $20
- $16 Youth Tickets if purchased by July 4th!
Register online or in person at the Western Family YMCA.
All 5K participants receive free entry to the International Food Festival, plus:
- A race T-shirt
- A swag bag from event sponsors
- Post-race snacks and refreshments
- A 1-week guest pass to the Western Family YMCA
- 1 ticket to the International Food Festival

All Great Human Race 5K proceeds benefit the Annual Campaign for the Western Family YMCA, which supports financial assistance programs and ensures access to YMCA services for families and individuals in need.
