Volunteer at the YMCA

Get started today!

Interested in volunteering for the YMCA of Delaware? To get started, simply click on your preferred location below and complete the volunteer application.

To ensure the safety of all members, guests and program participants, volunteers will be required to pass reference and background checks, and must complete YMCA safety training.

As a YMCA volunteer, your time and talent go a long way. You can lead a program or class, serve as a role model for young people, become a sports coach, help with a special event, campaign for annual support, or be a part of a committee working to make the YMCA the best it can be. No matter how you help, you’ll make a big difference as you work with others to create a feeling of connectedness in your community.

Youth Program Volunteer Requirements

The YMCA of Delaware delivers quality programs through incredible volunteers & staff who help infuse the Y mission and the core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility in all we do. Each youth program focuses on developing character, community, and skill within an environment of healthy competition and fun.  All youth program volunteers with the YMCA of Delaware are required to pass a background and reference check, and must complete safety and child protection training prior to the start of the sports season. All training must be renewed on an annual basis.
