Common Questions About Senior Membership & Programs
Absolutely. At the YMCA of Delaware, we offer chair-based exercises, gentle yoga, water aerobics, and low-impact group fitness classes designed for all mobility levels. Whether you have a limited range of motion or are just getting back into exercising, our trained staff will help you find the right class. We’re here to help, wherever you are on your fitness journey. Additionally, all of our fitness centers are equipped with adaptive fitness equipment to help individuals of all abilities exercise safely and confidently.
Most group exercise classes, pool access, and fitness center use are included with a standard YMCA of Delaware membership. Some specialized programs like LIVESTRONG at the YMCA are offered at no additional cost, regardless of membership status. Program registration fees may apply for select small-group or enrichment programs. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify, so cost should never be a barrier. Learn more at the membership desk at your local Y or on the financial assistance page.
If you’re just getting started, we recommend water fitness classes, chair yoga, stretch therapy, or a light walk on the treadmill. These beginner-friendly options are low-impact, instructor-led, and created to help you progress in your fitness journey. Feel free to talk to our staff if you have any questions before class.
