MLK Day, Open Houses At YofDE Locations

Wilmington, Delaware – The YMCA of Delaware invites the community to come together in 2026 to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through meaningful events and free open houses at all YMCA locations statewide. These activities reflect the Y’s commitment to unity, service, and strengthening communities.

MLK Prayer Breakfast at the Middletown Family YMCA

Friday, January 16, 2026 | 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM

The YMCA of Delaware will kick off its MLK celebrations with the annual MLK Prayer Breakfast at the Middletown Family YMCA. This uplifting morning will feature the Walnut Street YMCA Drumline along with special performances by Ashli Rice and Kaisha Blackstone.

Community members are invited to enjoy a morning of prayer, inspiration, music, and fellowship as the Y creates space to reflect on Dr. King’s enduring message of hope, equality, and service. The event is free and open to the public, and attendees are encouraged to bring friends and family for a powerful gathering rooted in celebration and unity.

Free Open Houses at YMCA of Delaware Locations

In honor of Dr. King’s legacy of service and inclusion, YMCA of Delaware locations will open their doors to the community for free MLK Day Open Houses. These family-friendly events will showcase the Y’s mission to strengthen communities and provide opportunities for all to belong.

Guests will enjoy access to YMCA facilities, fitness classes, activities for kids and families, and opportunities to learn more about programs that support youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

Participating locations include:
