Dover Y Cardboard Boat Regatta
Join us in making a splash at the Dover YMCA’s Cardboard Boat Regatta! Families will engineer boats using only cardboard and duct tape, then paddle the length of our pool in a thrilling race.
This event fosters family togetherness and STEM-based learning, with at-home activities leading up to the big day. Event proceeds help fund the Water Wise program, aimed at preventing drowning and equipping children with
essential water safety skills.
Registration is Now Open!
This event is open to the community.
Registration requires a $50 team entry donation. Additional spectator tickets will be on sale on race day for a $5 donation.
*Register by October 19th to receive a free Regatta T-shirt for your pilot!

What is a Boat Regatta?
Using only cardboard and duct tape, families will build a boat to paddle the length of the Dover Y Pool! They will be provided at home
activities to foster family togetherness and STEM based learning. On Race Day, we will host activities and information tables throughout the facility, with the feature races!

Proceeds from the Regatta will benefit the Y’s Water Wise program, which is dedicated to preventing drowning by offering free water safety lessons to children ages 3-17. Water Wise equips kids with critical skills to stay safe in and around water.
