CAMPS
Traditional Day Camp

Participants will learn game fundamentals, positions, rules, and teamwork through fun, age-appropriate instruction. Sports camp is held primarily indoors at the Dover YMCA branch location.
Specialty Camps
Our specialty camps offer tailored experiences focused on specific interests or activities. Unlike traditional summer camps that provide a broad range of activities, specialty camps immerse campers in a specific subject, skill, or hobby. Specialty camp is held primarily indoors at the Dover YMCA branch location. You can find descriptions for each Specialty Camp below.
Ninja Training Camp: Ninja Training Summer Camp invites campers to jump, climb, swing, and race through exciting obstacle courses in the Dover YMCA’s brand-new NinjaZone® space. Campers will move like ninjas as they build strength, agility, and confidence through fun challenges, games, and skill-based activities. It’s an action-packed camp perfect for kids who love to move, explore, and try something totally new!
TagForce Training Camp: A high-energy camp where campers dive into action-packed team tag games, including exciting Nerf-style challenges. Thinkers & Tinkers: A creative, STEM-focused camp where campers become problem-solvers, inventors, and makers. Using the makerspace as their home base, campers explore how ideas turn into creations through building, designing, experimenting, and refining projects. The emphasis is on process over product—encouraging creativity, persistence, and collaboration.
Carnival of Colors: Art Camp—Campers step into a world of vivid colors, bold patterns, and dynamic art-making, inspired by the sights and energy of a carnival. Through experimenting with various media and completing creative challenges, campers explore color, pattern, and self-expression while collaborating on exciting projects.
World Explorers: Campers become explorers, travelers, and cultural ambassadors, discovering different regions of the world through hands-on activities, games, creativity, food, music, and problem-solving. Each day focuses on a different region or theme of exploration.
Maker’s Wonderland: A hands-on makerspace camp where campers design and build a project or invention of their own choosing. They’ll explore creativity, problem-solving, and design while bringing their ideas to life.
Master Chef Week: A hands-on culinary camp where campers explore the fun of cooking and baking in a safe, creative kitchen environment. Campers will learn basic cooking techniques, experiment with flavors, and create delicious dishes while building teamwork, confidence, and kitchen skills. Perfect for budding chefs who love to mix, measure, and taste their way to success!
STEM Wizards Week: A fun, hands-on camp where campers explore science, technology, engineering, and math through exciting experiments and activities. Kids will make things move, mix colorful reactions, and solve simple problems while discovering how STEM is all around us.
Improv Club Week: A lively, interactive camp where campers build creativity, confidence, and quick thinking through fun improvisation games and performance activities.
