Bear-Glasgow Family Y & Lowe’s Celebrate Red Vest Day

Bear-Glasgow Family YMCA and Lowe’s Celebrate Red Vest Day with Ribbon Cutting for New Ultimate Ninja Course

WHAT:

The Bear-Glasgow Family YMCA and Lowe’s are joining forces for Red Vest Day, a community volunteer event celebrating partnership, service, and giving back. The day will feature a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the YMCA’s brand-new Ultimate Ninja Course — made possible through generous support from Lowe’s community investment initiative. Spanning 40 feet by 12 feet, the Ultimate Ninja Course offers a safe, supportive space where kids can build strength, agility, and confidence while conquering obstacles like the warped wall, swinging steps, floating poles, trapeze bars, rings, and teeter-totter.

Following the ceremony, Lowe’s Red Vest Volunteers will roll up their sleeves to paint new picnic tables next to the course, adding the finishing touches to the Y’s outdoor recreation area. Representatives from both the Bear-Glasgow Family YMCA and Lowe’s will offer remarks, and a complimentary breakfast will be served to staff and volunteers.

ABOUT LOWE’S HOMETOWNS:

This year, Lowe’s made a commitment to deliver 10 million square feet of impact in communities nationwide, measuring all the ways the company helps each year foot by foot. As a part of this commitment, Lowe’s is driving measurable impact through Lowe’s Hometowns, the company’s five-year, $100 million initiative that powers 100 large-scale community renovations annually, alongside 1,700 associate-led efforts. From neighborhood parks to food pantries, these projects renovate and revitalize spaces that serve as hubs and heartbeats for hometowns – and each project will now be measured as part of Lowe’s 10 million-square-foot goal. Projects are slated to be completed by the end of 2025.
