Lifeguard Certification

Lifeguard Certification through Ellis and Associates is a hands-on proactive approach to lifeguard training. The International Lifeguard Training Program is a single, integrated curriculum that provides certification valid for one year. Participants must complete an assigned resource document, achieve a minimum of 80% on written exam and demonstrate mastery of all practical skills. Recertification Dates

Pools

The YMCA of Delaware offers 17 indoor and outdoor pools statewide with opportunities for family-fun recreation time, lap swimming, water fitness classes and swim lessons. Some of our pools include fun features such as waterslides, fountains, sprinklers and zero-depth entry access.

Swim Lessons

At the Y, we believe everyone should know how to swim! Our swim lessons are designed to teach this lifelong skill to children and adults of all skill levels in a safe environment. Develop confidence around water as you learn water safety skills and stroke technique, and discover the health benefits of swimming when integrated into your workout plan. Swim Team

The YMCA of Delaware has swim teams throughout the state. This competitive program offers children and teens an opportunity to work with trained coaches to improve swimming skills, endurance, and promote a healthy lifestyle. Participants build character values through personal improvement, training, goal-setting, teamwork, and competition. Teams compete locally, regionally and nationally. Swimmers progress as participants, role models and leaders.
