The Achievers program is a national college readiness program designed to help all teens set and pursue educational and career goals, raise their academic standards, develop a positive sense of self, explore diverse college and career options and connect them to professionals that inspire them to reach their potential. At the YMCA of Delaware we connect program participants to members of the local business community to serve as mentors, preparing participants for future success.
The programs meet weekly at the Walnut Street YMCA. The year culminates with an Annual Awards Dinner to honor the Youth and Adult Achievers!
Achievers and recognize Teen Achievers who are eligible for scholarships.

2026 Teen Achievers College Tour
April 5 – 10
The YMCA Achievers Annual College Tour offers students an unforgettable educational and cultural experience across the Southeast. Participants will travel by coach bus, stay in hotels, enjoy some included meals, receive a college tour T-shirt, and explore history with a visit to the International Civil Rights Center & Museum.
Must Complete Interest Form to Attend. Limited Spots Available!
The tour features visits to several outstanding institutions such as:
- North Carolina A&T
- Morehouse College
- Spelman College
- Clark Atlanta University
- Tuskegee University
- South Carolina State University
- Norfolk State University
- and more!
A mandatory parent meeting for all registered students will be held on March 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
This tour is a powerful opportunity to inspire college aspirations and expose students to HBCU excellence.
