At the YMCA, strengthening community is at the heart of everything we do. Through programs that provide essential resources, promote safety, and create opportunities for connection, we go beyond fitness to make a meaningful impact—helping individuals and families thrive at every stage of life.
From affordable housing and food access to swim safety and inclusive programs like the Brandywine Social Club, our outreach efforts are building stronger bonds and a healthier Delaware for all.
Brandywine Social Club
The Brandywine Social Club at the Brandywine YMCA is a welcoming community for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) to connect, have fun, and build friendships. Meeting several times each month for activities, outings, and shared experiences, the club fosters belonging, confidence, and life skills in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Community Health Programs
The YMCA of Delaware provides a range of community health programs focused on improving the well-being of individuals and families statewide. Our evidence-based offerings—including diabetes prevention, blood pressure self-monitoring, and more—help participants prevent or manage chronic conditions while adopting healthier lifestyles. Committed to health equity, we offer financial assistance to ensure all Delawareans have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
Housing at the Central YMCA
The Residence at the Central YMCA provides safe, affordable housing for men ages 18 and older. Residents receive a private, dorm-style room, discounted access to the YMCA fitness center, and connections to health and human services through trusted community partners.
