“An Evening of Global Impact” will raise funds for 2025 student service trip to Peru
Wilmington, Delaware – The YMCA of Delaware invites the community to celebrate youth leadership and global citizenship at An Evening of Global Impact on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at the Chase Center on the Riverfront. This special evening will spotlight the YMCA’s Global Teens Program—a transformative international service-learning experience that empowers Delaware teens to become culturally aware changemakers. The program offers students a unique opportunity to expand their worldview, gain leadership skills, and engage in hands-on service projects abroad.
The event will feature a film screening and panel discussion highlighting the 2024 Global Teens journey to Kenya, where students engaged in cultural exchange and meaningful service. Attendees will hear directly from teen participants and YMCA leaders about how the program has shaped their outlook, confidence, and future plans.

Students will also bring donated school supplies and resources for underserved children.
“We are deeply grateful for the support of our sponsors and partners who have made this opportunity possible for future leaders in our state,” said Jesus De Las Salas, Vice President of Social Responsibility and Corporate Partnerships at the YMCA of Delaware. “Our mission is to ensure every youth and teen we serve is on a pathway to success. This program allows us to provide Delaware teens, many of whom are from under-resourced communities, with valuable life skills to enrich their personal and academic growth while preparing them for a more interconnected and diverse world.”
