At the Brandywine YMCA Preschool and Childcare, we believe that all kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve. The Brandywine YMCA Giant Step Preschool Program is for children ages 2 years through pre-k. We promote learning through a variety of themes and lesson plans. Children are encouraged to participate in play, physical activities, music, learning center, circle time, and hands-on activities. The program includes weekly swim time, large motor activities, dramatic play, music, arts and crafts, giggles, and games. Children bring lunch from home. Please do not pack peanut butter or nut products in your child’s lunch due to possible severe food allergies of other children.

Before Care is a program designed to promote youth development by providing activities in the form of arts and crafts, games, fitness, etc. This program is offered to any child in kindergarten through 5th grade attending one of our participating schools. A YMCA membership is not required. After Care is a program that offers an opportunity for children to engage in a variety of activities to expand learning beyond what they experience during school hours. This program includes scheduled homework help time, a snack, recreational activities and more. A YMCA membership is not required. Before and After School Care is held on-site at the schools listed below:

2024/25 School Year Monthly Fees
Out of school care for children attending Kindergarten through 5th grade who enrolled in Before & After Care in the Brandywine School District is held at the Brandywine YMCA during in-service days and school holidays. Your child will be engaged in social and educational activities while having fun. Capacity is limited and registration is required. Hours: 7 a.m. – 6 p.m. Fee per day: $50/day (POC is accepted) *Additional charge for field trips
