Sussex Y To Host Campfire Across America

Sussex Family YMCA Invites Community to Celebrate Campfire Across America on July 22

Rehoboth Beach, Delaware – The Sussex Family YMCA will join YMCAs across the country in hosting Campfire Across America, a one-night, nationwide celebration of connection, community, and belonging. The free community event will take place on Tuesday, July 22, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. in the backyard of the Sussex Family YMCA.

Families and community members of all ages are invited to gather around the campfire for an evening of fun, friendship, and unforgettable memories. The event will feature s’mores, campfire sing-alongs, bounce houses, and opportunities to connect with neighbors in a welcoming outdoor setting.

The Sussex Family YMCA is also pleased to welcome the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay, who will help facilitate the campfire experience, lead campfire songs, provide fire safety demonstrations, and share information with families interested in joining the Girl Scouts.

“At the Y, we believe in the power of bringing people together,” said LoriKay Paden, Community Vice President & Executive Director of the Sussex Family YMCA. “Campfire Across America is about more than a campfire; it’s about creating meaningful moments of connection. Whether you’re making a s’more, singing along, or meeting someone new, these shared experiences help strengthen our community.”

For generations, campfires have been places where stories are shared, friendships are formed, and differences fade. Campfire Across America brings that timeless tradition into the spotlight, inviting communities nationwide to gather around the fire and celebrate what unites us.

Campfire Across America is taking place at YMCAs in all 50 states, creating a shared national experience centered on belonging, inclusion, and community. The initiative highlights the YMCA’s long-standing commitment to welcoming everyone and building stronger, more connected communities.

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit https://www.ymcade.org/event/sussex-ymca-campfire-across-america/
