Western Family YMCA Set To Kick Off Welcoming Week With Great Human Race 5K & International Food Festival

Newark, Delaware – Join the YMCA of Delaware in partnership with the West Wilmington Seventh Day Adventist Church, as we celebrate what unites us as a community. The Y kicks off Welcoming Week at the Western Family YMCA on Sunday, September 10th with the Great Human Race 5K and International Food Festival.

Participants will enjoy a variety of foods from around the world and entertainment for the entire family including international games, special global performances, moon bounce, photo booth, raffles & more!

“Welcoming Week celebrates inclusion and coming together as a community,” said Thomas Wallace, YMCA of Delaware Community Vice President & Sr. Executive Director of the Western Family YMCA. “We want to promote cross-cultural understanding while showcasing our community cohesion with immigrants and American-born residents alike. We are the Y For All and will continue building bridges to connect our communities.”

$25 per person in advance ($30 per person on day of event)

REGISTRATION INCLUDES:

  • Tee shirts for all pre-registered runners and walkers.
  • 1-week Guest Pass to the Western Family YMCA – Join the Y the day of the event and get October for FREE!
  • Free admission to the International Food Festival.
  •  Post-race refreshments (including Beer for those over age 21 years).
