YMCA Launches MLS GO Soccer League

New MLS GO League offers an affordable, beginner-friendly soccer experience as enthusiasm for the sport continues to grow following the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Wilmington, Delaware – The YMCA of Delaware is partnering with Major League Soccer (MLS) GO to enhance the youth soccer experience for families participating in YMCA youth soccer leagues this fall.

The partnership includes a connection to the Philadelphia Union, bringing added excitement and recognition to YMCA youth soccer programs. The launch comes at an exciting time for the sport, as the region continues to buzz from the 2026 FIFA World Cup, inspiring a new generation of soccer players and fans.

The new partnership will launch at the Bear-Glasgow Family YMCA, Western Family YMCA, and Brandywine YMCA during the Fall 2026 youth soccer season. Through MLS GO, operated by RCX Sports, YMCA families will have access to new resources and experiences designed to make youth soccer more engaging, consistent, and exciting for players, coaches, and families.

“At the YMCA of Delaware, we’re always looking for ways to enhance the experience we provide to children and families, and our partnership with MLS GO is an exciting step forward for our youth sports programs,” said Jennifer McPherson, Vice President of Membership & Programming. “This partnership gives our volunteer coaches access to new resources, provides every player with a full uniform experience, and brings the excitement of Major League Soccer and the Philadelphia Union to our local soccer community.”

As part of the MLS GO experience, every participating player will receive a complete soccer uniform, including a jersey, shorts, and socks. Volunteer coaches will also have access to high-quality coaching resources, including practice plans, fun games, and age-appropriate activities designed to help create a consistent and engaging experience for young athletes.

“The best youth sports programs are the ones that meet families where they are,” said Izell Reese, CEO of RCX Sports. “The YMCA of Delaware already has deep roots in these communities, and bringing MLS GO to its local branches can help more kids get on the field while giving coaches the resources to create a great experience once they’re there.”

Teams and staff at the participating YMCA branches will begin onboarding and training in the coming weeks in preparation for the fall launch. Registration for Fall 2026 youth soccer leagues is open now.

The YMCA of Delaware believes every child should have the opportunity to participate in youth sports. To help make that possible, financial assistance is available for qualifying families, helping reduce financial barriers to participation.
