This course is designed for responsible and dependable students who are ready to take their babysitting skills to the next level. A variety of topics will be covered including: How to care for children and infants; making good decisions; handling emergencies and more.

Black Achievers

The Black Achievers program provides college readiness and career awareness to African American teens in Wilmington. African American mentors from diverse career fields are nominated by the local business community to serve as role models, preparing participants for future success. The Achievers meet weekly for one year at the Walnut Street YMCA. The year culminates with an Annual Awards Dinner to honor the Adult Achievers and recognize Teen Achievers who are eligible for scholarships.

Counselor in Training

Our CIT (Counselor-In-Training) program is designed to give teens the opportunity to work directly with campers, gain experience running camp programs, and further develop leadership skills with the goal of becoming a future YMCA camp counselor.

CPR and First Aid

Would you know what to do in a cardiac, breathing or first aid emergency? We offer CPR and First Aid that will give you hands on training to help save a life. Courses are available for adults and youth ages 12 and up.

Do you want to learn how to dance? Our youth and adult programs allow you to choose from multiple genres of dance including Tap, Ballet, Jazz and Hip Hop. Parent/child classes are also available for young dancers who are not yet ready to participate alone.

Day Camps

At our day camps participants sing songs, create arts and crafts, play music, swim, learn academic fundamentals, participate in storytelling and more. During our specialty camps we focus on STEM, sports, dance, art, cooking and more.
