Statewide initiative brings Delawareans together through fitness & wellness community events.
Wilmington, Delaware – The YMCA of Delaware is bringing communities across the state together for the return of Let’s Move Delaware, a statewide movement encouraging youth, adults, families, and seniors to embrace fitness, healthy habits, and meaningful connections. Taking place September 12 through October 10, 2026, Let’s Move Delaware will feature a variety of events and activities designed to inspire Delawareans to get moving and build healthier, stronger communities.
From 5Ks and pickleball to dance, wellness activities, and community celebrations, Let’s Move Delaware offers opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to participate. The initiative reflects the YMCA’s belief that community health is about supporting overall well-being and building connections that help individuals and communities thrive.
“Let’s Move Delaware is an opportunity for people across our state to come together around things we all value: living healthier, more active lives,” said Tom Myers, Chief Development Officer at the YMCA of Delaware. “Whether you participate in a race, try a new activity, connect with your neighbors, or simply take a few more steps each day, every movement matters. Together, we can create healthier communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.”

Let’s Move Delaware is powered by partners who share the YMCA’s commitment to healthier, stronger communities, including Nemours Children’s Health, ChristianaCare, AmeriHealth Caritas Delaware, and the Delaware Blue Coats. Their support helps expand opportunities for children, families, and adults to get active, connect with others, and live healthier lives.
In addition to promoting healthy living, Let’s Move Delaware helps make YMCA programs and experiences more accessible to local families. Every dollar raised through the initiative directly supports the YMCA of Delaware’s Open Doors financial assistance program, which is projected to provide more than $7 million in YMCA programs and membership scholarships to adults and families in 2026. The YMCA provides accessible opportunities for people at every age and stage of life to improve their physical, intellectual, and emotional well-being.
